My work as a
lecturer in geology and field guide on expedition ships between 2018 and 2020 took me on various journeys with wonderful people to breathtaking, indescribable places.
The polar ice and wildlife of Antarctica and the Arctic (Svalbard, Greenland, the Canadian Arctic), volcanic islands in the Atlantic (from Iceland to Cape Verde), the verdant paradises of Ireland and the Scottish Hebrides—all these places are enchanting! Magic, fascination, and vastness amaze everywhere.
It is always a profound joy for me to learn about and understand nature in these diverse yet equally moving places, to discover the local geology—and especially to share these experiences with open-hearted and curious guests.
Experience. Is life.

In my lectures, you'll experience a view of the big picture, sometimes in great detail.
Information in four dimensions. If we want to understand the present, it's helpful to first grasp the past.
Where do stones come from, how did our Earth form—and what are stones anyway?! What is climate, how can we study it, and where? And why do some people even do it?
I want to inform you—about land and countries, and about what happens not only beneath our feet.
